WOMEN ARE THE MOST VULNERABLE TO THE ECONOMIC HARDSHIPS IN INDIA AND WHAT ARE THE IMPACTS ON WOMEN OF THAT. ANALYZE?

.
.
In India, women are one of the most vulnerable section of the society. Most of the women are not allowed to work outside home and the rest who work outside are paid less than their opposite sex. Quoting Global Wage Report data, women are paid 34% less than men in India. According to a data, the unpaid work done by women looking after their homes and children is worth 3.1% of the country’s GDP. These all factors deprive a woman of her independence and compel them to be dependent on male members. In this Indian patriarchal society, women are considered not as the second sex but secondary sex. In case of Economic crisis, where huge inflation will prevail, women would not make to the priority list of the male who earn. With less or no earning, empty saving and minimal support from the earning member, they would be hit hardest.
Impact on women

1) Affect their health and well being
2) Increased Exploitation at work place and even at home, may be because of financial constraints and increased tension of male member.
3) Education deprivation in crisis situation as family prefer male education over female
4) Sexual exploitation

.
These issues should be solved from different dimensions- Politically, Socially and Economically
1) Women representation in political system needs to be increased.
2) Society should be educated so to come out of the patriarchal mindset.
3) Women should be educated and empowerd to take a job or create a job.
4) Environment must be made safer for women.
Women constitutes half the humanity. This half is deprived of opportunity, how can India develop?

Not only Government but the citizens must work together to make this world a safer place for women where the society takes care and they are not considered secondary.
