India is the land of world's fab art and architecture since the time immemorial. India also
occupied 2nd rank in Asia in terms of UNESCO's list of tangible heritage sites.
This shows the need of safeguarding India's art heritage.
India's such art and architecture now deteriorating due to many
reasons and one such is GLOBALISATION i.e, animated films replaced puppetry,
hip hop dance replaced beautiful Indian classical dances.
Need of
safeguarding:
1) Historical and cultural importance: Indian art has its own intrinsic importance in its own unique way such as story telling, shadow puppetry etc.
2) Economical importance: Since time immemorial it has been providing employment opportunities to many.
3) Aesthetic importance: Rock cut temples of India and many have aesthetic importance too.

Even our fundamental duties A(51-A) of Indian Constitution
provided a provision regarding safeguarding the Indian monuments and it is the
need of the moment. Programmes like Adopt a Heritage is a way forward in
safeguarding THE GREAT INDIAN ART HERITAGE.
