ROLE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT. EXPLAIN?

.
.
Disaster is a result of natural or man-made causes that leads to sudden disruption of normal life, which cause severe damage to life , property etc without scientific and technical knowledge it is almost impossible to prevent from earthquake, volcanoes etc.
Role of IT in Disaster prevention:
1) Help us to understand mechanism of natural hazards of atmospherical, geological, hydrological etc.
2) Helps to store efficient data, help to monitor, measurement variety of natural phenomenon. eg. GIS and remote sensing.
3) Observation of any object from distance and take photographs and images through satellite and aircrafts. eg. SPOT satellite, Land Sat Satellite Radar System etc.

.
.
4) Effectively identifying disaster prone areas
5) Provide real-time information such as weather observation ,forecasts, satellite etc through Internet.
6) Provide early warming before cyclone, tsunami , earthquake. eg. IMD provides cyclone warnings from Area cyclone warming centers(ACWCs).

Using Information and technology inform of Internet, GIS, Remote sensing satellite communication etc.can help great deal in planning and implementation of hazards reducation.
